Day 166

To sum up the silence of however many weeks it's been: I was ill, M was ill, F was ill. In fact, as I'm writing this I have both of them off school unwell and I have a slight stuffy nose, so it's a bit like the plague has hit this apartment repeatedly! 
Despite all that, it's beautifully sunny today and it's nice to have a few days of not spending money and just sort of relaxing. I say sort of because obviously a lot of care is needed when kids are genuinely unwell, but at the same time they're more than happy not to do a lot, so keeping entertainment and play up isn't so necessary. 
In the time I've had outside of the apartment I've made a new friend at church (Laura, she's American and so, so lovely!), been inside Emmanuel II *I have to Google the spelling of that every time!* and seen the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and been inside a church with a beautifully carved wooden ceiling and mosaics here and there (I've tried to find out what it's called; the Internet is giving me nothing!). I've also made shortbread and cornflake cakes, which was pretty exciting I'm sure you'll agree!
I know this hasn't been much, but hey, something's better than nothing right?!
