Dear Family letter

In less than a month I will be travelling to Rome, Italy to au pair for a wonderful family who I met through https://www.aupair-world.co.uk . It's all really very exciting, and I want to take you all on the journey with me. First of all though, I thought that it may be helpful for me to post my "Dear Family" letter; not only for people who might want to know what the family first read about me, but also in case there are any potential au pairs reading this and wondering what in the world to write (a bit like I was!) The website separates the information into three to make it a little easier to formulate:

Dear Family:

I'm very much looking forward to the opportunity to be an au pair within your family! I was born at home in Wales, UK to a family of four - my mum, dad, brother and sister. My dad has recently retired and has set up his own business as a handy man, and my mum also runs her own business. There is a large age gap between myself and my siblings, my brother works within computing, while my sister is married with a 3 year old daughter and lives on a farm.
I love where I currently live; it's the perfect mix of urban and countryside lifestyles - the ability to walk our dog in the woods nearby and also be able to catch a train to a shopping centre or walk to the supermarket. However I also love experiencing new environments and areas; discovering places I couldn't dream of!
I am presently learning to drive and would aim to pass my test by the summer!

About Me:

My full name is Zoë Alice Coulson, my birthday is 10th July 1995 and I'm the youngest of three children. I'm a Christian and was baptised in March 2014. I love to read, sing, listen to music and swim. I also love animals, although I am allergic to cats but this can be controlled by basic antihistamines! I studied and received qualifications in English (language and literature), Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French, Spanish, Welsh, History, Geography and Drama between the ages 14 to 16 and then went on to study and receive higher qualifications in English Language and Literature, Psychology and Biology. Between the ages 11 to 17 I was an active member of St John Ambulance, receiving the highest award for Cadets (the Grand Prior Award) and becoming Cadet Sergeant and Cadet of the Year for my county. I have done work experience in a school nursery and I enjoy doing voluntary work with the local primary school Drama Club. Last year I visited a Kenyan primary school as part of a college Not For Profit organisation that I and others helped to raise money for over the course of two years.

Why do you want to be an au pair?

I would like to work as an au pair because the whole experience would be amazing, and give me something that nothing else could. I enjoy helping others and find working alongside children very rewarding, so being an au pair would be ideal. I also take a great interest in how other cultures and societies vary from my own, and so living in a different country with people who are from that country would give me an incredible insight into these things. I'm unsure as to what I would like to do for a career in the future, but am hoping that new experiences and challenges will guide me towards a decision.
